Message tags

Members with an enhanced account are able to use basic formatting in their forums posts.  You can format text so that it appears bold, underlined or italicised.  In forums that allow you to post web addresses you can change your address into a clickable link.

Formatting is achieved using special tags:

[b]text[-b] for bold text.
[u]text[-u] for underlined text.
[i]text[-i] for italicised text.
[link]www.cheese.com[-link] for links.

You start the formatting with the first formatting tag, and finish it with the second.  For example, to display some bold text, you would type the following:

I like to upload [b]photographs[-b] to Chortleberry.

to produce:

I like to upload photographs to Chortleberry.

The [b] starts the bold text, and the [-b] ends it.  You must end the formatting, otherwise your entire post will be in that formatting.  This works the same for each kind of formatting, but with links the text between the link tags should be the URL you want to link to, without the http:// prefix.
Here's an example:

Here is my website. It is [link]www.naughtypicturesofme.com[-link].

makes:

Here is my website.  It is www.naughtypicturesofme.com.

Once again, don't forget to close the link using [-link], otherwise all the rest of your post becomes the link!
