Lenses and Stuff!

Made a massive decision today with the help from 'LUVTO' thanks geezer, this is gonna cost me.
I decided on holiday whilst shooting pics of surfers that i needed a telephoto, got to have one it's the bad-boy in the tool case isn't it?
I opted to buy the canon EF100-400 usm which is (L GLASS) whats L glass i asked luvto? It's the top of the range lenses canon do,the rolls royce of taking pics. CHI CHING! i thought loadsa money and it is one of those "WHITE METAL" numbers. The first place i looked on "T'interweb" was £1,436 then i checked out MARTINS CAMERAS based in Leeds, came in at £940 U.V. filter at £46 and decided with the change i'd buy the X2 extender £207. I'm driving up there on monday to hand over the cheque and they have to order the stuff in but hopefully should be with me in 3 weeks. Check them out if your gonna buy something new,Linda on the phone sounded very photogenic.

I drove up there on monday after sending them an email that i was coming personally to deliver the cheque. Linda phoned me a bit panicked in her voice half way through the journey, erm the shops closed at the moment for refurbishment and i'll meet you there! OK i said and carried on till the 'sat nav' reached your destination! There was no shop, just an old hairdressers. I sat there and a AUDI Q7 pulled up beside us,hi are you Linda? i asked. Yes pleased to meet you! Sorry about the shop she said whev'e just got it and got a lot of work to do. Alarm bells rang but she did open the door with a key and let me write out a cheque for over a £1000. I took a note of the reg on the car but i'm still having sleepless nights worrying about it,should be here in on the 10th of sept. I'll let you all know if i've been F***k*d over! But yes she was very photogenic.

Looking forward to seeing the results - after all this anxiety I bet you'll really get the most out of this lens.

The 400D body looks like a throw away (max spielmann) when i stick this lens on.
You twist the camera onto the lens,it's alway's been the other way around for me,i ain't taking it out without a canon bodygaurd.
It reaks of "attack" and steal my stuff and the Missus is having so much fun taking pics of the neighbours interior rooms.
What was the purpose? It's raining all the time.

With 400mm of telephoto-ness to play with and a 2x extender you can sit in your car and take all sorts of shots of places in the rain. And isn't it always raining in Manchester? wink
