When not to take that shot

Being a little photographically uninspired I decided to head off to my favourite nature reserve to see what was enjoying the sunshine. This place is Pensthorpe in Norfolk, and for those of you in the UK this will be one of the venues for th BBC's Springwatch programme that'll be on TV from 26th May.

Anyway I start my wander around the reserve and find myself following a short bearded chap who's intently looking through binoculars. People walking the other way keep stopping and talking to him, and a couple take his photo, which you can see he's obviously getting tired with.

Eventually I catch up to him (my legs are longer) and as I walk past I say "Good morning Mr Oddie, hope you're enjoying the sites" and walk on. Not sure if he was happy that I didn't ask to take his picture, with the obvious camera that I had slung around my neck, or whether he felt slighted. Personally I hope that he he was pleased that someone didn't want to treat him like an exhibit.

So possibly my best picture for the "Reportage" challenge from jennyjustjenny is one that never got taken.

Got to admit the thought of capturing the water from a burst balloon is something that intrigues me - must give that a go!
