The Power of PhotosYesterday was a particular crap day as I had to have my labrador put to sleep (he was 13, so had had a good innings). In order to take my mind off this sad event I started to organise my photo's, with the aim of putting them all onto one hard-drive, and that's when the power of photoraphs hit me - I have 13 years worth of photo's of my dog and each picture tells a story about a part of his life.
Some of these moments were easy to recall, some prompted me into a "oh yes, I remember that now....". With a proliferation in the number of photo's I've taken over the years (moving from film to digital) I'd like to think that in years to come I'll have a huge repository of memories, so if my own memory starts to fade at least I'll have prompts so that I can remember the good times. Now that has got to be the true power of photography.

And so this isn't too sombre a blog, a joke from sickipedia.org -
"A dog is truly a man's best friend. If you don't believe it, just try this experiment:
Lock your dog and your wife in the boot of the car for an hour. When you open the boot, which one is really happy to see you?"
