Group Photo Tip

I was reading some university research or some such thing a month ago which gave the odds of someone in a group photo having their eyes shut. The upshot of the research was that if you have more than 5 people in the shot the odds are that you will always capture at least one person with their eyes closed.

With this in mind I was talking to a wedding photographer and asked her how she got round it, expecting her to say that she now uses Photoshop wizardry. Her answer was wonderful in it's simplicity - before taking a group shot she asks everyone to blink three times then takes the shot - she says this never fails and looking through her portfolio she was rather good with the large group portraits.

So just remember: "Blink, blink, blink, say cheese"
